* Vision is what transforms the attitude from “enduring difficulties” to “welcoming every opportunity”.
Had some hard time to understand some human relational dynamics this morning. However, when the Holy Spirit reminded me that He is forming meekness inside of me, I then realized and perceived the current situation as a golden opportunity for pruning. To have a vision of what the Holy Spirit is doing in me gave me perspective and an attitude upgrade
Last week I got into a downward spiral of comparing myself with others - others who are more accomplished and actively engaged in ministries. I found myself getting less and less joyful, more and more critical of myself and others around me. Finally, when I was in the middle of my deep thoughts of how seemingly insignificant my existence was, the Holy Spirit spoke to me.
I love the interruption of God.
He said, “I created Karen Cheng to be Karen. I didn’t create Karen Cheng to be so-and-so, and the other so-and-so. In fact, I really like the Karen Cheng I have created. Would you be my Karen again? This is what I want Karen Cheng to focus on in this season of life - to soak up my love for her, and to give this love away to everyone that comes through her doors.”
I was awakened by this interruption and quickly made a 180 degree turn in my thought life - to be who He created me to be, and to do what He is asking me to do in this time of my life.
If I spend my life trying to be and do what others are called to, I will miss the joy and pleasure of God who has created me for a different purpose than everyone else. He created each of us uniquely, perfectly, and wonderfully, to display His multi, many-fold wisdom. Let’s let Him have the pleasure of beholding the beauty of the crown of His creation, shall we?!
Prayer is the pathway of love. It is the pathway to love.
If we think of ourselves as swimming in an open sea, looking upward for God of Life, Father of Light. Since no matter how hard we try, we arms are never long enough to reach Him, out of His love and desire to fellowship with us, God throws down a rope ladder to us - so we can climb up, and His and our desires can become a reality - that God and men can fellowship, through Christ Jesus.
Everything in our spiritual life is founded upon and continued on in Christ and Him alone. Our fellowship with God is possible because Jesus made a way for us. He continues on as our Great High Priest, sitting at the right hand of the Father, interceding for us. His Spirit works within us, birthing the desire in us - to have real communication with God, to talk to Him. Thus we search, learn and mature in the life of prayer.
To think rightly on Prayer we must think in terms of Love. It starts out because of love, it continues on because of love, and even to the end, it is because of love.
Pray is an act of love.
After visiting IHOP-Kansas City for a week, we are back home, back to our busyness in daily life. It was so good to be in the house of prayer for a week. It is also good to be home, to continue living where I am planted and to bloom by His grace.
Drawing near in my heart to the fountain of life, fountain of love, my Father of Lights. Drawing near, knowing that the Father is seeking for anyone and everyone, who is setting his/her heart on knowing God. What an encouragement it is to know that every movement of my heart is real and is seen by the invisible realm. Oh if we can only see with the eyes of our hearts, the huge differences we make each time we turn our hearts to Him, we would have lived a very different daily life. I am becoming increasingly aware of the on-going friendship Holy Spirit of the Living God is offering to me. To have the Spirit of God indwelling inside of my spirit and to have real communion with Him is the very essence of strength and life. Oh my soul, draw near to the Living God, and find total surrender of self in His majesty!
While praying for someone this morning, I was reminded of this verse -
He gives us beauty for ashes and a garment of praise…
I pray that I will wear His glory as my crown and put on the garment of praise as I walk about different places. That through me, this little carrier of light, His love will extend and touch many hearts deeply.
Oh, Love Divine, invade my heart. Through me, invade all the hearts I encounter today.
Thinking about Hannah in the Bible. She was a godly, praying mother. She gave her beloved Samuel into the Lord’s hand, into the the not-so-godly Eli’s care. I think any mom would want to see the person who cares and teaches our children to be wiser, and godlier than we are so there are something good to pass on to the student. However, in Hannah’s case, she trusted not in Eli’s godliness, but in the power of God’s care over her son and dedicated him to be unto the Lord.
If you are like me, maybe your kids are in a public school, which is increasingly teaching ungodly philosophies of this age. Maybe you are also like me, have long dedicated your precious ones holy unto the Lord. Lately the Lord has been speaking to me about His capability to watch over the ones that are dedicated to Him - just like He is able to watch over Samuel and raise him up, even under priest Eli’s care, He is able to watch over our children and raise them up to be the godly man and woman that He calls them to be.
I find great strength to trust and obey Him, as daily I let my children go into the world, knowing the God of Hannah is the same God of Karen.
Let’s rise up, praying moms! We have a Father in heaven who watches and guides the steps of our children from righteousness unto usefulness in the Master’s hand.
These days when I wake up, I try to take time to interact with God. I want to know and hear what He wants to say; so I ask, wait, and get my daily surprise.
This morning, I am reminded of this Scripture -
Jesus is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of His nature, and He upholds the universe by the word of His power. After making purification for sins, He sat down at the light hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much superior to angels… of the Son He (the Father) says, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of Your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions.”…
What the Father wants to speak to me about today is His Son.
I hear the whisper of the Father saying, “Look at Jesus - His brilliant radiance, the glory, beauty, light and love, shining from God to all who wants to get a glimpse of Truth and Beauty. Look at Jesus, get a revelation of His nature. This will settle your little heart to find real strength inside. Think of about His humility and His power, His authority and His humanity. Think about His righteousness and His gladness.”
Oh, I am glad my assignment today is to meditate on Jesus! Holy Spirit, reveal Jesus to my inner man. Come and do what You love to do - exalt Christ and make Him known!
God is so holy and I want to be near Him - the perfect holiness, the true beauty and glory unspeakable- oh, Spirit of God, do what You must do so that all of me becomes Your full possession.
I had some quiet journaling time today. I asked the Holy Spirit to speak to me the good thoughts the Father has towards me. I was encouraged. This is what I hear the Father was saying to my heart this morning -
He likes it when I quiet my soul before Him and allow my heart to become the “tablet” for Him to write on. He likes every opportunity I give Him - my heart, a blank page, for the Spirit of God to write. Word by word, ink by ink, He is writing on the tablet of my heart words of truth and love. He is shining light to my soul. He cherishes the moments when I quiet my soul and choose Him.
May we all find a moment to sit before Him this week and allow Him to write on our hearts!
I was sitting in my kitchen praying, worshipping this morning. This phrase, “fragrance of love” and the pictures came. (Though the person in the picture I saw was a specific friend, the message is edifying to anyone. I feel this is meant to be an encouragement to the Bride of Christ.)
I see Jesus writing on a scroll, like a part of a compilation of a book of remembrance, about a woman. There is much tenderness and care on His heart towards her; even the manner that He writes about her is very tenderly. Joy is radiating from His face, His eyes beaming with light. The revelation and understanding of the journey that He is taking her on, and the way she is responding to Him gives Him gladness. I see Him pauses at times, and calls for angels to come and to witness how she loves Him, how she brings such joy to His heart by being a fighter and a steady runner on her race. The angels are fussing with amazement and they comment on the strength and the testimony of all that her life brings Him. Love and affection fills the atmosphere as He writes down all His thoughts and all the details of her life before Him.
Then I see her in a room, just quietly worshipping Him. There is worship/adoration rising from her heart, rising straight up. There is an aroma of love and gratitude ascends with her thoughts of worship to Him. I watch Him, pouring out the fragrance of His presence over her on her head. It’s like she wears His presence as one wears a perfume; and He wears her worship as one wears his. There is an exchange of fragrance, His for her, and hers for Him. It delights His heart to do this. And in that, an anointing from above pours over her.
I see in her room that there is a quietness and stillness of the soul. His eyes of love are on her because He is for her and she is His. I see that as she writes about her thoughts, her life, and pouring out her inner deepest part to Him in her journal book, He is full of affection and tender care and He writes on that scroll. I see the lady being deeply happy, with big smile on her face, eyes lit up with sparkles and understanding. There is a glow on her countenance.
The visible and invisible realms are of no boundary to Him, His power, and His love. Everything just melts before Him - the True Divine Love. He loves it when we rise and walk through life with Him - knowing that He is right there with us. By faith eyes, we can almost see that we are never alone. Truly there is no need for fear or anxiety, the God of creation is walking with us through life, what can detour us from our life walking with our Lord? I pray that as we are awakened to this amazing One that we love, our inner man, our emotions, even our chemistry make-up will be transformed by Love Divine. He has something wonderful prepared for His bride!
